This weekend, Boston was buzzing as our quest to bring a restaurant to the Boston Common moved one step closer.  (Check out the Boston Globe’s coverage of the latest developments.)  I spoke with WBZ’s Jon Keller about the importance of bringing the abandoned structure back to life, and discussed the incredible power of restaurants to revitalize neighborhoods with the Andelman brothers on the Phantom Gourmet radio show. 

The hard work that began when my colleagues and I boarded a bus to New York City in 2008 as part of the Special Committee on the Boston Common continues to generate interest in Boston and beyond.  I welcome Mayor Tom Menino’s interest in bringing new business and new life to Boston’s parks.

In its first meeting of 2010, the Boston City Council unanimously re-elected President Michael P. Ross as President of the body.  At the meeting, Ross praised the Council for its work in 2009 and urged them play a leadership role in addressing the current fiscal crisis as well as the City's future potential for growth and vitality.
